Terms of Service

Last updated 2 September 2026

These terms cover your use of LocalShopCart to place pickup orders with a shop. Placing an order means you accept them.

What this service is

LocalShopCart, operated by Minervit LLC, lets you send a pickup order to a shop. We provide the software. The shop provides the food, sets its own prices and availability, and is responsible for what it sells you.

An order is a request, not a confirmed sale

This is the most important thing on this page. When you submit an order it is a request. It is not accepted, and nothing is reserved for you, until the shop confirms it.

The shop may decline your request, or propose a change to it — for example if a cut weighs more than you asked for, or an item has sold out. You will be told either way. If the shop proposes a change and you do not answer within a day, the request expires and is cancelled.

Payment happens at the shop

You pay the shop directly when you collect your order. We take no payment, hold no deposit, and process no refunds. Any question about what you were charged is between you and the shop.

Text messages about your order

If you tick the optional consent box at checkout, LocalShopCart sends you text messages about that order on the shop's behalf. These are transactional messages only: we text you when your order is received, when the shop accepts or declines it, when it is ready for collection, if the shop proposes a change to it, and if it is cancelled. We never send promotional or marketing text messages, and ticking the box does not sign you up for any.

Ticking the box is entirely optional. Your order works exactly the same way if you leave it unticked.

  • Message frequency varies, because it depends on how your order progresses.
  • Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
  • Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or START to opt back in. Reply HELP to any message for help, or write to us at support@localshopcart.com.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

What we do with your phone number and your consent is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Collecting your order

Collect your order at the shop, during the pickup window you chose. If you cannot make it, contact the shop.

Orders that are not collected may be disposed of at the shop's discretion, and the shop may decline future orders from an account that repeatedly fails to collect.

Using the service properly

Give accurate contact details — a wrong phone number means you will not hear about your own order. Do not place orders you do not intend to collect, and do not attempt to interfere with the service or with other customers' orders.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be available without interruption. If it is down, the shop is still open — contact it directly.

Our responsibility

We are responsible for the ordering software. We are not the seller of the food and are not responsible for its quality, its description, its price, or its fitness for a particular purpose — those are the shop's.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to place orders after a change means you accept the updated terms.
